The 25-year-old joins the Jets as a replacement for last season's BBL Player of the Year John Thomas.

Holloway's reputation was cemented by his performance in the McDonald's All-American Game in 1996.

He helped the East to a 120-105 win over the West and was rewarded with the MVP award ahead of future LA Laker Kobe Bryant.

"He is a similar type of player to John Thomas and if he proves to be even half as good as John was, then I'll be happy," said Jets head coach Robbie Peers.

Holloway spent last season with Las Vegas Slam in the American Basketball Association.

He also had a spell in the ABA with Chicago Skyliners in 2001 and has played in the Venezuelan LPB League and in Israel with Hapoel Holon.

The Seton Hall University graduate was noted for his fine shooting and passing ability at college.

He averaged 13.2 points, 5.6 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game in his senior year, whilst shooting 40.3% from three-point range and 78% from the foul line.

Holloway joins returning Jets Pero Cameron, John McCord and Calvin Davis on the Chester roster, as well as new recruits Shawn Myers and Todd Cauthorn.

Last season Chester won every domestic honour available - a clean sweep of four titles.

"There are several stages to coaching and this is the first part completed," added Peers.

"Who knows how the balance of the team will be, but we'll soon see. I am certainly happy with the team I have recruited."
