""No Quiero Saber" is a song recorded by American recording artist Selena. It was originally a track on her second studio album Ven Conmigo (1990). It was composed and produced by her brother, A.B. Quintanilla III. Pete Astudillo, a backup singer with Selena y Los Dinos, produced the song with Quintanilla. The recording was later mixed by A.B. for Selena's 1996 first remix album, Siempre Selena. It was released posthumously by EMI Latin in June 1996, as the album's second single, behind "Siempre Hace Frio".

The track was given positive reviews by music critics, with The Deseret News calling it one of Selena's best songs. After its inclusion on her second remix album as a bonus acoustic track on Enamorada de Ti (2012), critics gave a mixed review. The song won the Tejano Crossover Song of the Year award posthumously at the 1997 Tejano Music Awards. It peaked at number six on the US Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart, while peaking within the top 20 on the Latin Regional Mexican Airplay chart and the Latin Pop Airplay.

The Tejano Music Award for Female Vocalist of the Year is an honor presented to female Tejano music recording artists. The Tejano Music Awards, first bestowed in 1981, was established to recognize the most talented performers of the genre—a subcategory of regional Mexican music, with roots in the music of early European settlers in Texas. The awards are presented by the Texas Talent Musicians Association (TTMA), to "promote excellence in the Tejano music industry" using the popular vote method to select the winner of the female vocalist of the year. Historically, female musicians fared less favorably in the male-dominated genre and were seen as inferior to their male counterparts. The award was established by Rick Trevino, a male Tejano performer, who founded the Awards in 1981.

The award was first presented to American singer Lisa Lopez. Laura Canales won the award five nonconsecutive times, and is considered Tejano music's first leading lady before the genre's golden age in the 1990s. Selena holds the record for most wins, winning 11 of her 12 nominations. The singer has been called the Queen of Tejano music, and is credited with catapulting the genre into the mainstream market.

Sale el Sol (The Sun Comes Out) is the ninth studio album by Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira, released on 19 October 2010, by Epic Records. The album marks a musical return to Shakira's "roots" after the electropop record She Wolf (2009). The singer split the album into three "directions": a romantic side, a "rock and roll" side, and a "Latino, tropical" side. The latter two "directions" experiment with rock and merengue music, respectively. As co-producer, Shakira enlisted collaborators including Josh Abraham, El Cata, Gustavo Cerati, John Hill, Lester Mendez, and Residente Calle 13.

Five singles were released from Sale el Sol. The lead single "Loca" was a worldwide success and topped the charts of numerous countries including Italy, Spain, and Switzerland. The title track, "Sale el Sol", was released as the second single; it performed well in Mexico and Spain but appeared on only a few other national charts. The third single "Rabiosa" reached top ten positions in Austria, Belgium, Italy and Spain. "Antes de las Seis" was released as the fourth single and had moderate impact on airplay charts.
