It would be good to add this to the new test, and improve the behaviour (the error is quite opaque):

        class MoreFieldsThanTypes(ast.AST):
            _fields = ('a', 'b')
            _field_types = {'a': int | None}
            a: int | None = None
            b: int | None = None
