August 7, 2006, Dr. Joe Morton released the Accountability results based on performance on state testing.  Results for students in grades 3 8 and 11 are reported.  ALL of Hoover City Schools MADE AYP.  That means that all schools except Simmons are Not in School Improvement.  A description of this information is attached in the HCS Accountability Status memo and the AYP Power Point.  Simmons Middle School was in School Improvement Year 1 last year.  Hoover City Schools was also in School Improvement Year 1 last year.  Since Simmons and the district also made AYP on the most recent test results, the district and Simmons Middle School move into School Improvement - Year 1 (Delay) since it takes two years to get into School Improvement and two years to get out.

Below is a summary of accountability in the form of questions (the first two pages) and a summary of Hoover City Schools status on page 3.  A more detailed Power Point that describes in detail what accountability means is included (or attached). If you wish to access the accountability report for each school, other districts, or the State, log onto the State website at http://wwww.alsde.edu  Click on the accountability report in the list on the left.  You then have 2 different types of reports.  (1) If you click on the top large oval (Click Here for Accountability Reporting), you can access the district information and each schools profile. (2) If you scroll down the page you will find 2 boxes.  You will select the school year and the report you wish to see.  There will be numerous reports from which to select
