Founded in 1887 by William Randolph Hearst, the Hearst Corporation has interests in magazines, newspapers, and business publishing, as well as newspaper comics, features syndication and Internet activities. Well-known titles include Harper's Bazaar, Esquire, The San Francisco Chronicle and the San Antonio Express-News. Hearst also operates radio and television stations and produces television programs. The company is a partner in several cable ventures, including Lifetime, Arts & Entertainment, the History Channel, and ESPN.
