Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won the coveted Game of the Year title at this year's The Game Awards, but that wasn't the only trophy it scored at this year's show. The dark fantasy game also won awards for Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Independent Game, Debut Indie Game, Best RPG, Best Art Direction, Best Performance (Jennifer English), and Best Score & Music, walking away with a total of nine trophies, and receiving more wins than any of this year's other nominees.
Still, plenty of games got their flowers at this year's ceremony. Arc Raiders took home Best Multiplayer, Mario Kart World snagged the win for Best Sports/Racing game, and Baldur's Gate 3 won Best Community Support. The three-hour show also featured some surprises, including a debut trailer for Control Resonant, a look at Leon Kennedy's role in Resident Evil Requiem, an unforgettable Street Fighter movie cast announcement, and a new Mega Man game announcement.
