Agree to all you said in your #msg226496.

There is additional information about comparison in:
- Tutorial (5.8. Comparing Sequences and Other Types),
- Library Reference (5.3. Comparisons),
- Language Reference (3.3.1. Basic customization)
that needs to be reviewed in light of this patch.

I'm just not sure I want to make this patch even larger as it is already, and tend to do that in a follow on issue and patch (unless directed otherwise).
