Through the contributions of several people, Zack's key idea, that Idle documentation should have a single source, idle.rst, has come to fruition. So I think it time to close this.  I already mentioned #25198 for improving the tkinter viewer. I also opened #25218 for revising Zack's patch and possibly using an 'idledoc' target in the release process.
