I am collecting information on how different compilers behave with the `static inline`. I am checking the following compilers:

AVR GCC
CLANG X86_64
CLANG RISC-V
ELLCC
GCC X86_64
ICC x86_64
MIPS GCC
MSP GCC
POWERPC GCC
AIX Compiler (xlc)
SunPro Compilers

will report back when I have enough information on these.
