Why Soft Fork?
Upstream has shifted focus to the Desktop app and deep EffectTS refactors, while critical CLI issues like broken prompt caching and day-to-day usability bugs sit unresolved. Pull requests and outside contributions appear to be on hold indefinitely.
I still think opencode is the best AI coding harness out there, so this fork tracks upstream releases and applies focused patches for the CLI-only workflow I actually use.

Agents
OpenCode includes two built-in agents you can switch between with the Tab key.
- build - Default, full-access agent for development work
- plan - Read-only agent for analysis and code exploration
- Denies file edits by default
- Asks permission before running bash commands
- Ideal for exploring unfamiliar codebases or planning changes
Also included is a general subagent for complex searches and multistep tasks.
This is used internally and can be invoked using @general in messages.
