Thanks for the PR, @getaaron. It is very much appreciated. I think we can safely substitute "dumb" with "stupid", right?

I don't even know what "bonkers" means, I would vote for "stupid".

Good lord. Do NOT encourage these people. Do not enable this kind of behavior. This kind of crap (I am very sorry 😊) is getting out of hand. Most projects are being infected with people like him. Yes, I said it. ☺️

I have projects using "dumb terminal", am I supposed to name it "bonkers terminal" because 1% of programmers (who also happen to never contribute to any projects) might associate it with something that is unrelated to IT? They need to be shown the door, or give them something so they can learn how to recognize context. No one would know what I meant by "bonkers terminal", and it sounds ridiculous. It is almost as ridiculous as making the association to completely unrelated things. No one except "them" makes those associations. This has to be a joke. Do not fall for it.

On another note, according to dictionaries, "bonkers" means "mad, crazy". We should not use this term either, because of the same reasons.

In the case of a dumb terminal, the definition meaning lack of speech would seem to hold.

Is your primary issue with the suggestion of “bonkers” or do you want to keep using words like “dumb” and “lame” which disabled people (or “these people” as you call them) repeatedly tell us are offensive to them?

Does this happen in the context of IT? I somehow doubt that disabled people actually care about IT-related terms such as "dumb terminal". It is not an insult on them, because it has nothing to do with them. Context matters. If they do get offended by it, you need to tell them that it is not meant to be an insult on them, why would it? I honestly never thought about disabled people, or slaves when I was using terms in my code such as "dumb terminal", or the "master/slave" terminology. Why would I? It never occurred to me, because it has nothing to do with them. I think people who make these associations are the ones who should engage in introspection, merely for the fact that they made this association. They are the ones who try to associate such terms to those people.

Again, "dumb terminal", or similar terms in IT does not refer to them at all, and context matters.

I have ASD, and I do not have any issues with people using terms such as "dumb" in the context of IT. I know it is not meant to be an insult on me.

And no, as a person with ASD I do NOT need anyone making the assumption that I am not able to defend myself. There is nothing to defend myself from. These terms in the context of IT are NOT meant to be a personal attack on me or anyone else. Context matters!

"Doing something dumb" should be avoided because it:

Refers to d/Deaf or hard of hearing people, people with speech-related disabilities, or people with linguistic or communication disorders or disabilities.

Also, there are many more descriptive words you could use. This PR replaces it with "bonkers", but other fun alternatives include cavalier, careless, horrible, incautious, terrible, vile, and shoddy.
